9th Districts selects presiding and administrative judges for 2025

AKRON––The 9th District Court of Appeals selected Judge Jill Flagg Lanzinger to serve as presiding judge in 2025.
The presiding judge presides over all panels on which the presiding judge sits as a member.
She also serves as the court’s representative on the executive committee of the Ohio Courts of Appeals Judges’ Association.
In addition, the presiding judge serves in place of the administrative judge if the administrative judge is unavailable.
Judge Flagg Lanzinger was elected to the 9th District Court of Appeals after serving as a judge on both the Summit County Court of Common Pleas and Barberton Municipal Court and working as a county prosecutor and in private practice.
The 9th District Court of Appeals selected Judge Scot Stevenson to serve as administrative judge in 2025.
The administrative judge is responsible for and exercises control over the administration, docket and calendar of the court.
In addition, he administers personnel policies established by the court.
Judge Stevenson was elected to the 9th District Court of Appeals after serving as chief magistrate of the Summit County Domestic Relations Court, judge of the Summit County Common Pleas Court and working many years in private practice.
The 9th District Court of Appeals hears appeals from trial courts in Lorain, Medina, Summit, and Wayne Counties. The Court also has original jurisdiction to hear applications for writs of habeas corpus, mandamus, procedendo, prohibition and quo warranto.
