Brouse McDowell recently added two more litigation associates to its Akron office as management continues to grow the firm strategically to meet client needs.
Tyler Schlimme and Marcus H. Pryor II joined Brouse McDowell in July and May respectively.
Collectively they fill a need that we have for associates in our litigation practice group,” said Brouse McDowell Managing Partner Dan Glessner.
“Marcus has a lot of experience in labor and employment along with complex litigation and will serve a critical role in our insurance recovery practice group,” said Glessner. “He is a consummate professional, who brings his military demeanor to work every day.
“Tyler will be critical to our litigation practice, particularly in the areas of construction, commercial and labor and employment litigation. He previously worked defending commercial trucking and commercial coach carriers in general liability and professional liability matters and also represented employees in discrimination, wage and hour and contractual matters.
“Both Tyler and Marcus have incredible work ethics and will be huge benefits to the insurance recovery and litigation practice groups,” said Glessner.
Pryor started at Brouse McDowell on May 23 after working at the U.S. departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs, where he honed his skills in the labor and employment arena.
“I joined Brouse because I wanted the opportunity to learn more about insurance recovery and to further my knowledge of labor and employment matters,” said Pryor.
A native of Cincinnati, he received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Mount St. Joseph University in Ohio.
After serving in the U.S. Army as a combat medic, Pryor earned a joint JD/MBA degree from The University of Akron.
In addition to Brouse McDowell, Pryor practices on behalf of the U.S. Army as a reserve judge advocate.
Outside of the legal profession, Pryor coaches youth sports and serves on the Akron Law Alumni Board.
Schlimme said he’s excited to work for a law firm that’s committed to community service.
“Brouse is a prestigious firm that does a lot to give back, which I appreciate because that’s what I want to do,” said Schlimme, who started at Brouse McDowell on July 18 and is a member of the litigation, real estate and insurance recovery practice groups. “I am not currently serving on any boards, but I am exploring my options. I’m also very excited to be practicing in the city where I live.”
Born in Pittsburgh, Schlimme’s family moved to Cincinnati when he was two years old.
After graduating from Sycamore High School, he moved to northeast Ohio, where he majored in political science at The University of Akron.
“I was interested in going to law school ever since I was in high school, but it wasn’t until I graduated college that I decided to pull the trigger,” he said.
After graduating from The University of Akron School of Law in 2020, Schlimme began his legal career at a labor and employment firm in Medina.
Prior to starting at Brouse McDowell, he was an associate at Mazanec, Raskin & Ryder in Solon, where he defended clients in a variety of litigation matters.
Schlimme said he hopes to one day serve as a practice group chair at Brouse McDowell.
“For now, I’m focusing on making a difference in my clients’ lives,” Schlimme said. “My goal is to be an attorney my clients can rely on to deliver a successful outcome.”
