Published: March 26, 2019

AKRON––Kastner Westman & Wilkins, LLC, a boutique labor and employment law firm representing management exclusively, recently named Margaret A. Matejkovic as the firm’s first diversity and inclusion officer.

“Kastner Westman & Wilkins is committed to maintaining a culture where diversity and inclusion are celebrated and valued,” Matejkovic said. “To us, this is more than just a statement. It is an integral part of who we are as a firm.

“We continually strive to translate positive intentions into positive actions to promote this culture, just as we work with our employer-clients that have similar aspirations and action plans for their own workplaces.”

In this role, Matejkovic works to promote diversity and inclusion within the firm, as well as in an advisory role with KWW clients who aspire to foster diversity within their respective organizations.

Matejkovic said the firm regularly conducts customized leadership, mentoring and ongoing training programs and workshops that promote inclusiveness and a positive atmosphere in the workplace.

Matejkovic joined KWW in 2017 as of counsel, focusing her practice on human resource counseling services to clients.

The Medina resident is a graduate of the University of Akron School of Law, where she currently serves as an adjunct faculty member. She also earned a bachelor’s degree in business and organizational communication at the University of Akron.

Matejkovic also previously served as the president of the Akron Bar Association.

KWW’s clients range from Fortune 500 companies to smaller regional businesses, including both local institutional employers and public sector entities. The firm provides employers with counsel and representation in affirmative action compliance, alternative dispute resolution, employee benefits, employment litigation, EEOC and other administrative charges, human resources consulting, labor arbitrations and negotiations, occupational safety and health, trade secret and non-compete litigation, wage and hour issues, and workers’ compensation.
